Make sure to spend ample time stargazing while you’re here, as it’s one of the best places on earth to do so. You’ll not only see stars, but constellations, galaxies, and planets, too!

If you want a trip under the sea, let’s go to Kaikoura. It’s just a 2.5-hour drive from Christchurch, which makes it the perfect roadie! Kaikoura is known for some incredible wildlife, including its sperm whale population, so you know here is the best place to dig out the wetsuit and dive in! There are plenty of dolphin tours available as well as whale-watching trips - whatever you decide to do will be well worth it.
